CULT social media superstar ‘Grandpa Joe’ captivated children with his gruesome tales.

He entertained almost 60 youngsters at a spooky storytime Halloween event in Runcorn’s Halton Lea Library.

Some of the children tweeted him afterwards and said they were hooked on his videos.

Carl Loughlin, aged 30, a library manager in the Wirral, started making YouTube videos after having acting lessons.

He is now hoping to work with Halton’s libraries and The Brindley Theatre.

Carl said: “I’m hopefully getting funding for a children’s interactive literacy website, Grandpa Joe’s creepy cottage.

“Children will be able to play literacy games, read reviews, post reviews, learn about books and discover1 the background behind Grandpa Joe and why he loves books so much.”

Grandpa Joe is auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent 2013 and hopes to launch a children’s TV book show Visit CarlOnTV.com to see his videos.
