Birstall Court brothers terrorising residents in new home

TWO brothers who made the lives of residents on a Runcorn estate a misery are now terrorising homeowners in Warrington.

Ryan and Aaron Woodward previously lived at Birstall Court where an ASBO was imposed on the address after they were violent and abusive to neighbours.

They breached that order eight times before being moved to Dean Crescent in Longford, Warrington, a year ago.

That house has now been boarded up and the brothers evicted.

Warrington Magistrates’ Court heard on Thursday how they inflicted a ‘living hell’ on families in the street.

Elizabeth Heavey, prosecuting, said that neighbours were threatened, bricks were thrown at houses and car windows smashed.

The brothers are also accused of assaults and violence.

Many residents were too terrified to speak to police but one witness gave an anonymous statement.

In it they said: “Before they moved in people were always in the street, doors open, “They are engaging in violence and encouraging others to do so. If anyone approaches them about their behaviour they become very threatening.

“I genuinely fear for my safety day and night. It is a living hell in what used to be such a lovely crescent.”

Magistrates passed the closure notice.

It is the first time in Cheshire a house has been shut down solely for anti-social behaviour.
