A runner is on target to complete a daunting challenge.

Chris Fitzpatrick, aged 35, of Barncroft, Norton Cross, Runcorn, has vowed to run 2,012 miles in 2012 and raise £2,012 for Clatterbridge in memory of cancer victim Mark Gorry, who died from testicular cancer.

02 software designer Mark, aged 23, of Wavertree Avenue, Widnes, set up a charity to raise £1 million for Clatterbridge.

Dave Catt and Andy Morland, teachers at St Berteline’s Primary School in Windmill Hill, Runcorn, ran 200 miles over two weeks.

Paralympian Mark Ecclestone, who won a silver medal in wheelchair tennis in Athens 2004, gave pupils and teachers an inspirational talk.
