Victoria’s Secret model Joan Smalls has compared walking in the lingerie brand’s annual fashion show with going into battle.
The catwalk star, who recently strutted her stuff alongside Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid in underwear and wings at the event in Paris, said it is harder than it looks.
Arriving at the Fashion Awards in London, she told the Press Association: “I don’t think people realise how unrealistic it is.
“I had the heaviest wings, they were 8ft long and 30lb so imagine walking with that and in high heels. It’s quite the challenge but I loved it.”
Asked if it resembled putting on armour for battle, she said: “Completely. You have this adrenaline rush that keeps you going forward and then, before you know it, it’s over.”
After months of preparation to be runway ready, she admitted she and Kendall treated themselves once the show was over, saying: “We had some burgers, some mac and cheese and some margaritas.”
The show will air in the UK on hayu on December 6 and on 4 Music on December 12.
