Dame Helen Mirren described her three new waxworks figures as “sisters”, as she unveiled them at Madame Tussauds in London.

The cheeky Oscar-winning actress, 70, couldn’t resist checking out the ample assets of one statuette, dressed in a black Asprey gown she had donated to the museum.

The three waxworks of the star, best known for playing The Queen on film and on stage, depict the actress as Prime Suspect’s detective Jane Tennison as well as the Queen, and another of her glamorous red carpet self. All three have been positioned in front of a Union Jack flag.

“This is amazing, I feel like my husband looking at me! It’s like having three sisters, I love it,” she said, adding the experience of seeing various versions of herself was “absolutely amazing, yet so disturbing”.

Helen, dressed in a floral-print Dolce and Gabbana dress, revealed she preferred the red carpet version, saying: “I love this one, it’s very me, I look happy.”

She unveiled her red carpet figure in London in 2010, but has never come face-to-face with the other two statues, which were previously displayed at Madame Tussauds Blackpool and Berlin.

Helen – who is married to film director Taylor Hackford – said of her other two figures: “The Queen outfit is very like my costume,” and was impressed with Jane Tennison’s eyes: “Look at the eyes of Jane Tennison, very fierce, it’s excellent.”

She also said she’d like to pose with the Robert Pattinson, George Clooney and Johnny Depp statues.

Edward Fuller, general manager of Madame Tussauds London, said: “Dame Helen’s figure has been one of the most popular since it was first launched here by the lady herself in 2010.

“We wanted to do something special to celebrate her birthday on July 26 so we decided to give visitors the chance to ‘meet’ her in three of her most famous guises.”

He continued: “Her portrayal of DI Jane Tennison is TV legend, she won an Oscar for her role as The Queen, and she is an inspirational role model herself, wowing the public and press every time she steps out.

“We’re sure fans will be delighted to see all three Dame’s together for the very first time.”

The trio will be on display at Madame Tussauds London until October 16.
