Mark Wahlberg has admitted as much as he likes being a producer, it was a welcome relief not to have any responsibilities for problems on set in Ted 2.

The actor has branched out into producing for films such as Lone Survivor and Prisoners as well as TV series Boardwalk Empire, but went back to acting only for the sequel to comedy Ted.

He said: “I love producing and having the responsibility of watching every aspect of the film, but then also I liked just being an actor for hire for Ted 2 and not having to worry about it.

“Something’s melting down, instead of diving into the problem I go and sit in my trailer, watch a little sports until they’ve figured it out.”

But even though he has been involved in so much of the film industry, Mark said he did not want to see his own life on the big screen.

He said: “No, not at all. It’s something I would avoid at all costs.”

Mark, who is from Boston, is currently looking into making a film called Patriot’s Day about the Boston marathon bombing, but said it was early days on the project.

Explaining why the film would be important to him, he said: “Of course being from Boston, and showing how the people of Boston come together and relate together in any situation, never mind a horrible situation like that.

“But we’ll see (if it gets made), there’s never a guarantee.”

Ted 2 is released in cinemas on July 8.
