Sam Attwater may have missed out on a place in the Dancing On Ice final but having met his fiancee on the show he said he feels like the winner.

The former EastEnders star and his real-life partner Vicky Ogden lost the skate-off in the semi-final to competition favourite Ray Quinn and his partner Maria Filippov.

It was the first time actor Ray has been in the skate-off, but it was Sam's fifth appearance - and the judges voted unanimously to send Ray into next week's grand final.

After his fate was sealed, Sam, who won the ice dancing series in 2011, said: "I feel like the winner," a dding: "I have something more than a trophy."

He was referring to professional skater Vicky who he is engaged to.

Moments after his final dance, Sam said: "That was the best skate we've done from day one."

Judge Jason Gardiner told the two actors that they should not have been in the bottom two.

"Neither of you should be here," he said, a dding: "I do not agree with this decision."

Head judge Robin Cousins agreed, saying: "You were both on fire tonight."

Robin told the pair they should both be in next week's final.

The grand final of the ITV ice dancing competition will see Ray, gymnast Beth Tweddle and actress Hayley Tamaddon battle it out to be crowned the ultimate champion.

It will also feature Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean performing their famous Bolero routine for the last time on television.
