IT’S quirky, it’s cool and we love it. But did you know all of this other stuff about the Citroen C4 Cactus?

How fast does it go?

It won’t set pulses racing, but my modest 1.2 car got me from 0 to 62mph in just 9.3 seconds, which isn’t bad really. Top speed is 117mph... although I can’t personally vouch for this. Ahem.

Runcorn and Widnes World:

What engines are there to choose from?

Engine range includes 74bhp, 81bhp and 108bhp 1.2-litre petrols and 91bhp and 99bhp 1.6-litre turbodiesels. There are three trim levels - Touch, Feel and the top-of-the-range Flair.

What do you like most about it?

Loved its large panoramic sunroof, which features advanced heat protection (the best available on the market), and is designed to filter light and reflect heat. Has DAB radio too, a must-have these days.

Any dislikes?

Boot capacity is only 358-litres which isn’t quite big enough for me I’m afraid. And although the large touchscreen makes the dash look slick, I found it a bit fiddly to use at times, particularly changing the temperature or flicking from one radio station or another.

Don’t like putting fuel in – how far will it get me?

Between 60.1mpg and a whopping 91.1mpg depending on the model. Have to say, more than 90 miles to the gallon is my kind of economy..

Runcorn and Widnes World:

There’s a range of driving features to make life easier – but which one is the best?

Unsurprisingly, I liked Park Assist, which carries out parking manoeuvres automatically when you find a suitable space. Anything for an easy life! It also had a useful reversing camera and Hill-Start Assist, which keeps the car stationary for two seconds on a slope.

So... how much is it?

It ranges in price, from £12,990 to £18,290 depending which model you choose

And finally... it has airbumps!

Yes, airbumps. NOT lego. These are fitted to the sides of the car and the bumpers for both practical and stylish purposes. Above all they provide day-to-day protection, by absorbing the type of minor scrapes that can happen in car parks and the like. The airbumps don’t need any special maintenance and can even be customised – in black, grey, dune and chocolate and can be matched with the ten body colours.
