AN exhibition featuring more than 45 paintings and drawings by painter Pip Dickens opens at Runcorn’s Brindley on Saturday.

Toward the Light features chandeliers listing on dark oceans, Miss Havisham’s rotting wedding dress and an extinct and invisible King Kong.

Pip has been artist in Residence at Cartwright Hall since 2008, taking inspiration from the chandeliers and natural history collection at Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley.

She will be giving a talk on Saturday, April 21, at 12.15pm at The Brindley with refreshments provided. Admission is free.

She will be joined by composer Professor Monty Adkins, who has created sound compositions based on the paintings in the exhibition.
