A NEW climbing wall and sports equipment is proving popular at Upton Community Centre in Widnes.
More than 100 people booked on the first half dozen sessions.
Anyone under 18 can use the wall free with adults paying £2.50 as part of a special summer offer.
The wall will be open from 2pm to 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays and from 6pm to 9pm on Fridays until August 29.
Residents can also play table tennis, badminton, football and kwik cricket.
Halton Clr Phil Harris, board member for community centres and sport, said: “The climbing wall and the new sports equipment at the centre provide new healthy and fun activities for young people at affordable prices."
The wall is also available for private bookings and parties.
Climbers are required to sign a consent form and book sessions in advance by calling the centre in Hough Green Road on 0151 511 6161.
